Why Jews Reject, Muslims Distort, and Only Christ Saves
What Jews Believe About Jesus Even Today
From the first century until now, Judaism has taught that Jesus of Nazareth is not the Messiah. To them, He failed. They expected a Messiah to restore the kingdom, bring peace, rebuild the Temple, and gather the exiles. Instead, they saw Him crucified in weakness.
To this day:
- Orthodox Jews call Him a false messiah.
- Conservative and Reform Jews may call Him a teacher or rabbi, but not the Son of God.
- Secular Jews dismiss Him as merely part of Christian culture.
Paul explained why:
“Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.” (Romans 11:25 NIV)
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers.” (2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV)
“They stumbled over the stumbling stone. As it is written: ‘See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.’” (Romans 9:32-33 NIV)
The Jewish people as a whole remain hardened, rejecting Christ as false.
What Muslims Believe About “Isa”
Islam speaks of Jesus, but not the Jesus of Scripture. They call Him “Isa,” born of Mary, a prophet, a miracle worker.
But they deny His cross. They deny His resurrection. They deny His deity. They claim He will return only to serve the Mahdi, not to reign as King of kings.
This is a distortion. Half-truth, half-lie. And the Lord has no place for lukewarm:
“Because you are lukewarm — neither hot nor cold — I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:16 NIV)
Islam’s Isa is lukewarm, counterfeit, powerless to save. And Jesus warns:
“Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.” (John 5:23 NIV)
Hardened Hearts and Deceived Nations
- Jews reject Christ because of hardness of heart, passed down through generations.
- Muslims embrace a false Christ because of deception.
Both stand outside salvation until they believe in the true Son of God.
The Covenant God — Not of Ishmael
God blessed Ishmael, yes. He promised to make him into a great nation:
“As for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.” (Genesis 17:20 NIV)
But the covenant belonged elsewhere:
“Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.” (Genesis 17:19 NIV)
This is why the LORD reveals Himself as:
“I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” (Exodus 3:6 NIV; quoted by Jesus in Matthew 22:32)
Never once does Scripture say, “the God of Ishmael.”
The covenant line was Abraham → Isaac → Jacob → the tribes of Israel → David → Christ. Salvation is found in this covenant fulfilled in Jesus. Deny the Son, and you deny the Father.
Zechariah’s Unsettling Prophecy
Here is where the Word shakes us awake.
For Israel:
“In the whole land,” declares the LORD, “two-thirds will be struck down and perish; yet one-third will be left in it. This third I will put into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’” (Zechariah 13:8-9 NIV)
Two-thirds perish. One-third refined. In today’s numbers — over 7 million Jews in Israel — nearly five million cut off, only about 2.4 million surviving, purified until they cry out to the Pierced One (Zech. 12:10).
For the nations:
“I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it.” (Zechariah 14:2 NIV)
And their fate:
“This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.” (Zechariah 14:12 NIV)
Israel judged, yet preserved. The nations destroyed, without remedy.
Scofield’s Distortion
So why are Christians today taught to never question Israel? Because of Scofield’s Bible notes, financed by secular Jewish backers, which twisted Genesis 12:3 into a blanket command:
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse.” (Genesis 12:3 NIV)
Scofield’s interpretation: never oppose Israel or you risk God’s curse.
But the prophets said the opposite:
“You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins.” (Amos 3:2 NIV)
Chosenness means stricter judgment, not immunity.
Do Not Be Deceived in Whom You Support
Christians must walk the narrow road here.
- Do not side with the nations who rise against Israel. Zechariah saw their end: rot, plague, destruction. If you are in Christ, you cannot support Muslim nations or their allies when they gather against Jerusalem. Their fate is sealed.
- Do not blindly endorse Israel’s government when it schemes in evil. Leaders are men — corrupt, flawed, accountable to God. Scofield was wrong: to question them is not cursing God’s covenant. The prophets themselves rebuked Israel’s leaders. So must we.
We bless what God blesses. We resist what God resists. Above all, we fix our eyes on Christ.
John 17: Jesus’ True People
On the night He was betrayed, Jesus prayed:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” (John 17:20-21 NIV)
He did not pray for all Jews by blood. He did not pray for Ishmael’s line. He prayed for those who believe in Him.
Paul explains:
“For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children… it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.” (Romans 9:6-8 NIV)
Chosen by flesh does not mean saved. Only those in Christ — Jew or Gentile — belong to God.
Eyes on Christ, Not the Storm
We are shaken by Charlie Kirk’s death, by rumors around Bibi Netanyahu and Israel’s government, by the storm of current events. But God calls His people back to focus.
When Peter stepped out of the boat, Scripture says:
“Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt?’” (Matthew 14:29-31 NIV)
As long as Peter fixed his eyes on Jesus, he walked in faith. When he focused on the storm, he sank.
So it is with us. Stop staring at the storm — the rumors, the leaders, the corruption, the waves. Fix your eyes on Christ.
The Scroll’s Witness
- Jews today reject Jesus outright, blinded by hardness.
- Muslims distort Him into Isa, deceived by idolatry.
- Israel: two-thirds judged, one-third refined, purified by fire.
- Nations: gathered against Jerusalem, destroyed without remedy.
- Jesus’ prayer: not for nations by flesh, but for those who believe in Him.
- Covenant name: not “the God of Ishmael,” but “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
- The call: do not support the nations who fight against Israel; do not endorse Israel’s corruption; keep your eyes on Christ.
This is the dividing line. This is the message.
And I believe this is what the Spirit of God is telling us. I believe so.
