The Mahdi, the Fire, and the Northern Front

A Follow-Up to: The Final Showdown — Gog Watch from the North

A Scroll from Arete Gune
Written in the Spirit, grounded in the Word.

Why This Scroll Was Written

Because the next chess piece just moved.

On June 12, 2025, Arete Gune released the scroll “The Final Showdown — Gog Watch from the North”, exposing Iran’s nuclear push, Russia’s rising candidates for Gog, and a timeline that’s been tightening since early 2025.

Then it happened.

The Ayatollah of Iran publicly posted a fiery image invoking the return of the Mahdi, Islam’s messiah figure—and Russia stepped in with a direct warning to the United States.

This isn’t abstract anymore.
It’s prophetic motion.

The Image That Sparked It

“In the name of Heidar, the battle begins.
Ali returns to Khaybar with his Zulfiqar. Allahu Akbar.”

That’s the caption. The image?

  • A lone warrior, meant to represent the Mahdi, walks into a burning gate—possibly Jerusalem.
  • Fire rains from the sky, soldiers flank him.
  • He wields a double-edged sword, invoking Ali and Islamic conquest.

And this wasn’t from a fringe account.
It was posted on June 17, 2025, by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

Why that day?

On June 13, Iran’s president warned Israel would “regret its foolish act.”
On June 16, missile barrages were launched toward Israel.
And on June 17, this Mahdi image appeared.
That was the day they had marked as “regret”—and it just so happens to echo June 17, 2 BC, when Jupiter and Venus aligned—the star of Bethlehem.

A false messiah post on a prophetic counterfeit day.

This isn’t coincidence. It’s calculated.
It’s a marker. And the watcher is paying attention.

Heidar Returns to Khaybar — Clarification

Khamenei’s caption, “Ali returns to Khaybar with his Zulfiqar,” references the Battle of Khaybar (628 CE), when Imam Ali—Muhammad’s cousin and first Shia Imam—led a military conquest against a fortified Jewish stronghold.

The phrase “Khaybar, Khaybar ya Yahud, jaish Muhammad saya’ud” (“Khaybar… the army of Muhammad will return”) is still chanted today in anti-Israel rallies. It’s not a metaphor. It’s a war cry—meant to declare Islamic victory over Jews, past and future.

By invoking Khaybar, the Ayatollah isn’t simply referencing history—
He’s signaling open warfare against Israel, invoking divine right through Ali and his sword, Zulfiqar—the double-edged blade that symbolizes Shia end-time justice.

This isn’t just cultural memory. It’s a spiritual statement of intent:
“We are finishing what Ali started. And we believe our god is with us.”

Enemy Symbolism at the Gate

We saw more than a picture—we saw a strategic, spiritual message. Here’s what was encoded:

1. Date Reenactment — June 17, 2 BC Echoed

On June 17, 2025, the Ayatollah posted the image of the Mahdi at the burning gate of Jerusalem. But June 17, 2 BC, was when Jupiter and Venus aligned—what many believe was the Star of Bethlehem, announcing Jesus’ birth.

Coincidence? Not likely.
Even if they don’t know the date’s significance, the spirit behind the image does.

This is a counterfeit Bethlehem star.
A false messiah, appearing at the gate—not the manger.
Not knocking… but entering with fire and sword.

2. Declaration of War

The reference to Khaybar and the militant posture declare a clear message:

“We’re not coming to negotiate. We’re coming to conquer.”

This is no longer politics.
It’s a spiritual assault on Zion.

3. Their Mahdi Is at the Door – Doctrine Meets Declaration

By placing the Mahdi already standing at the gate, with sword drawn and fire behind him, the message is unmistakable:

“Our messiah has arrived. The battle has begun.”

This isn’t foreshadowing. It’s not a teaser.
It’s a visual proclamation of presence—and they believe their end-times prophecy is unfolding right now.

While the Qur’an doesn’t name the Mahdi explicitly, key verses and Shia hadith form the foundation of that belief:

Surah 21:105

“And We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention that the land is inherited by My righteous servants.”
Shia scholars, including Imam al-Baqir, interpret this as pointing to the Mahdi’s rule, where he establishes justice for the righteous.

Surah 28:5

“And We desired to show favor to those who were oppressed in the land, and to make them leaders and inheritors.”
According to hadith, this verse is often applied to the Mahdi rising to lift the oppressed and rule by divine command.

The message behind the image, then, isn’t just political or poetic.

It’s theological.
It’s eschatological.
It’s a declaration:
Their Mahdi is here—and he’s at the gate of Jerusalem.

And the nations are watching.

4. Hidden Dragons

Look closely at the smoke in the left-hand side of the image.

There appear to be serpent-like forms, curling and rising through the fire—resembling dragon heads.

“Then another sign appeared in heaven: a great red dragon…”
— Revelation 12:3

It’s subtle—but the enemy’s fingerprints always show up.
Where God marks with light—the enemy hides in shadow.

And one final note…
Upon close look, the smoke in the image may contain three serpent-like forms—marking a spiritual triad behind the gate.
Whether Iran saw it or not, the dragon was there.
And he brought company.

5. Two Lions — Could They Be Iran + Saudi Betrayal? (Psalm 83 Twist)

Iran and Saudi Arabia have historically been bitter rivals—Sunni vs. Shia, monarchy vs. theocracy. But in March 2023, they officially re-established diplomatic relations, brokered by China, ending years of hostility.

On paper, it was billed as regional “peace.”
But in the Spirit? It may be Psalm 83—awakening.

“Do not keep silent, O God…
For behold, Your enemies make an uproar;
Those who hate You have exalted themselves.
They lay crafty plans against Your people…
They say, ‘Come, let us wipe them out as a nation.’”
Psalm 83:1–4

If the two lions in the Mahdi image represent Iran and Saudi Arabia:

  • Then we are seeing a betrayal alliance—two ancient enemies now standing shoulder to shoulder at the gate of Jerusalem.
  • Psalm 83 names a coalition that includes:
    • Asshur (modern Iraq/Syria)
    • Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia
    • And the Ishmaelites—descendants of Ishmael, tied directly to Saudi/Arab Gulf states.

That matches the moment.
Former foes… now conspirators.

Picture this:
Two lions—seemingly opposite forces—flanking a false messiah.
United not by peace, but by a plot.
Not to save Israel… but to strike her.

That’s Psalm 83 in motion —whether the world sees it yet or not.
The lions are in position. The betrayal has already begun.

Gog’s Ally Just Spoke — Russia Warns the U.S.

Immediately following the Mahdi post, Russia issued a chilling warning:

  • Do not intervene in any Iran–Israel conflict.
  • Military involvement could trigger a nuclear catastrophe.
  • “The world is millimeters from disaster.”

These weren’t whispers.
They came from:

  • Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister
  • Maria Zakharova, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman
  • Echoed by Putin and state media

Putin’s calling it “diplomacy”—but we know better.
He’s posturing.
Aligning.
Just like Ezekiel said.

Ezekiel 38 — Persia and the North

“Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them with shield and helmet…”
Ezekiel 38:5

  • Persia = Iran
  • Magog = Russia, by many interpretations

And now they are speaking with one voice.

This isn’t just military—it’s spiritual positioning.

The Timeline We’re Still Watching

In Gog Watch from the North, we laid out a pattern—not a prophecy:

  • 2025–2033 — Grace period. The seals begin to open. The alliances start to shift.
  • 2030-2033 — A possible rapture window.
  • 2033–2040 — The final 7 years: tribulation, delusion, wrath, and return.

I’m not declaring prophecy.
I’m simply watching the pattern—quietly, carefully.
And if God allows, I’ll explain the timeline in my book.

What the Watchers Must Do

  • Keep oil in your lamp.
  • Stay grounded in the Word—not the web.
  • Pray for Jerusalem.
  • Discern the time—but don’t set dates.
  • Watch—not with fear, but with readiness.

The image of the Mahdi walking into fire was a signal.
But the Scriptures already told us how this ends:

“Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when He fights on a day of battle.”
Zechariah 14:3

And As Always…

If I’m wrong, I’ll be relieved.
If I’m right…
I’ll be gone.
